Job Description :

We are hiring a General Manager - Sales, for our client in Chennai.


  1. Provide leadership and vision by assisting the board and staff with the development of long-range and annual plans, and with the evaluation and reporting of progress on strategies;
  2. Formulate and execute the company’s strategic plan;
  3. Establish and lead execution of operation strategy;
  4. Set and achieve key performance targets for sales, delivery, cost, expenses and other measurements of operational performance;
  5. Identify, create, and develop new market opportunities, taking the lead on constructing a robust and successful business proposal that secure new deals, contracts and long term relationships;
  6. Support and lead company products sales, growth and continuous cost & quality improvements in the business;
  7. Manage all sales related activities covering setting and strictly monitoring of sales targets and ensures accurate delivery of products in all sales channels;
  8. Ensure the timely collection of the company’s money from the market. Develop a plan to minimize expiry products from the market;
  9. Minimizes sales returns/damaged goods and short expiry goods by monitoring returns, developing a depletion plan and avoiding overstocking the points of sales;
  10. Able to devise and implement plans to mitigate the risk for a smooth process;
  11. Timely update and present competitors’ activities and provides market feedback on new products, prices changes, new launches, etc to the top management;
  12. Communicate operational/sales results, activities, etc. to Executive Management and provide recommendations and plans for ongoing improvement.
  13. Ensure areas of responsibility are delivered in a way that is consistent with the company’s goals and financial-cost improvement plans;
  14. Monitor industry legislative developments, develop and implement strategic changes in order to maintain compliance and maximize business performance;
  15. Develop and maintain an excellent rapport with key stakeholders such as clients, suppliers, community organizations, regulatory bodies, etc;
  16. Representing the organization at trade exhibitions, events, demonstrations, and other related activities;
  17. Responsible for the warehousing operations including its personnel;
  18. To formulate performance measures, parameters, and targets, in line with the business objectives and agreed every year on a performance review, with targets set for the subsequent year.
  19. Maintain a high level of confidentiality throughout: on current business activities, short-long term plans, proposals  under scrutiny and any other activity related to the business;
  20. Other duties as shall be required


-Minimum 9 years of experience.
-Must have worked in Senior position in aggressive FMCG companies.
-With strong Field Experience from FMCG preferably food.
-Must be very familiar with Tamil Nadu market
-Must have extensive market knowledge on Urban & Rural Tamil Nadu.
-Good in Sales System- able to get along with Team & lead.
-Hard Working and able to take up challenges for gaining sales growth.
