Job Description :
Lead the development and execution of standards, policies, processes, and operations for the Philippine entities of firm, including effective data protection and privacy practices that meet legal and regulatory requirements for such entities.
Serve as the main point of contact between the firm and the National Privacy Commission of the Philippines (NPC).
Provide in-depth subject matter expertise or advise for data protection and privacy program, legal, and regulatory requirements to key stakeholders.
Design the Data Protection & Privacy monitoring and testing processes and procedures (i.e. metrics, thresholds, periodicity, etc.), as well as the reporting structure, for the Group entities at a global level.
Coordinate the online Data Protection & Privacy training for the Firm's entities at a global level, ensuring all employees complete relevant models on a timely basis.
Oversight the Firm’s Individual Rights Process (i.e. requests to access, rectify, delete personal data and/or oppose or limit processing activities), ensuring all these requests are handled on a timely basis meeting local data privacy regulation.
Oversight the proper and timely response to the Firm’s customer complaints connected to data protection/privacy matters.
This position is based in Manila, Philippines and will be reporting to the Group Data Protection and Privacy Officer based in the Global Head Quarters in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Data Privacy processes to be managed by this position are applicable for our Group companies in highly regulated jurisdictions, such as UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, etc.
Qualified to degree level or equivalent, preferably in a relevant domain such as information law management Should have at least 2 to 4 years Data Privacy Lawyer experience plus experience as a lawyer of 6 to 8 years.
IAPP (International Association of Privacy Profession), CIPM/CIPP (Certified Information Privacy Management/Professional) is required.
Should have a good understanding of the global Data Protection and Privacy regulatory framework, especially the Philippine’s Data Protection Law.
Basic technical knowledge of the financial industry Good analytical skills with the ability to grasp technical concepts.
